Meet Dr. Christopher Mathews (Mont Belvieu, TX)

Christopher Mathews, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry in 2018 from the University of Houston College of Optometry and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Purdue University. His special field of interest is specialty contact lenses, and he is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.

Dr. Mathews dreamed of becoming an optometrist from the young age of 17 years old. Vision has always been one of the most interesting human experiences to him. He wanted to understand at a cellular level how the eyes provide us with the ability to see, and he wanted to become a doctor people could trust with their sight and overall ocular health.

He fully believes that his education is never-ending, and he continually stays current on the most current research studies in the industry. He prides himself on continually learning about his patients and how he can personalize their treatment plans to help them best.

In his spare time away from the office, Dr. Mathews enjoys traveling with his wife, a flight attendant, spending time with family and friends, and listening to live music.
